Chase Designer Wear i.e. 'Chase' was a brand developed and created last year September.Thevendrin Pillay took some time to tell us all about this amazing brand.
The idea behind the brand was started after my 2 month visit to Thailand and South East Asia. I was in awe with regards to the amount of stylish and trendy casual gear available and also at such affordable prices. Initially, the idea was to import clothing from that side of the world. I decided against it as I wanted to create my own proudly 'south african' clothing brand that focuses on casual designer wear.
CHASE STYLE......
After analysing the clothing industry market in South Africa, and also considering various other factors and personal preference. The style the brand is focusing on is metropolitan style wear for both ladies and men. The number of streetwear brands currently in South Africa is growing in number, and they all seem to be doing fairly well, with the likes of Head Honcho and Butan etc. We are vying away from the genre and focusing on more 'city' style. With this we will focus on the latest styles and trends from NYC to Milan.
The brand will be creating stylish casual designer wear items for both men and ladies. From, shorts to shirts, sweaters, pants and so forth. With a few fashion designers behind the cause, we will be pulling out all the stops.

Chase Sunday was an idea that came about, by wanting to take glory home (back to the eastern cape) Port Elizabeth is very 'neglected' when it comes to the night light industry. Especially when one focuses on the different market segments. So as with all the major cities, like CT,DBN and JHB. We decided to have a whole Sunday vibe, on every last Sunday of the Month. The first one was last month, and we brought down Khuli Chana and DJ PH, they both gave a fantastic performance. The vibe at the event was fantastic, people thoroughly enjoyed, but for the next one we are expecting bigger numbers (^^,)
FUTURE PLANS.......
The ulitmate goal for the brand is to go International, however this will take time. We have brought and built the brand up prgogressively since september last year, and it continues to grow. Our clothing range is launching next week, and our website will be up and running soon. As a brand, we can only take it step by step, supply great clothes, of great quality and at a decent market price. We also aim to re-invent the industry in SA however way we can, by being innovative and original. We aim to be available nationwide in 2013, and International by 2017, the sky is not the limit for CHASE DESIGNER WEAR.
